Customer invoices have the purchases grouped together, to itemize by output type and resolution. As an example, if multiple high-resolution archive pipelines are purchased, with the same output type, they will be grouped together as a single line item on the invoice. If multiple medium-resolution archive pipelines, with the same output type are also purchased, these will be grouped together as a second line item on the invoice.
Some EarthCache customers have requested the ability to customize invoices, in order to itemize purchases. Common use-cases for this feature include grouping together; all costs for a specific project, individual clients, or geographical locations.
Using pipeline tags allows for pipelines with the same tag, to be grouped together as a separate line item on the invoice, allowing the requested customization. This must be done before the results for the pipeline are returned, otherwise it will not be reflected on the invoice.
In the EarthCache console, the tags are set for each pipeline. The billing_group tag must be applied to your orders shortly after creation, if the tag is not present or incorrectly formatted when imagery is delivered it will not be represented on your invoice.
In order to set a tag for an image:
1. Open the EarthCache console.
2. Update the tag of the pipeline.
Select the desired pipeline, followed by the "Settings" tab.
The "Tags" section should now be visible.
In the "Label" and "Value" sections, type billing_group in the Label section. For the Value, input the name you wish to appear on the invoice. In this example, Project 51 is entered.
Multiple values can be entered by pressing the "+" button, and will be grouped together on the invoice under each unique value.
When finished, press the "Save" button.
This process should be repeated for each pipeline.
